Pepe Reiner - an innocent man! (Bolton Wanderers vs Liverpool 30/09/2006)
Bolton’s opener came courtesy of a free-kick awarded against Reds stopper Pepe Reiner for handling the ball outside the box as he drop-kicked it upfield. Watch the replay though and it shows that while the Spanish keeper did kick the ball outside the area, it was still inside when it left his hands…
The Right Result panel disallows Bolton’s first goal as the free kick was given in error. The final score is 1-0 to Bolton.
