Champions League 06/07

Liverpool won it two years back and Arsenal came within a whisker this summer. Can this be the start of a golden period in Europe for English teams, and does it confirm the widely held notion (well the British press anyway) that the English Premier League is now the strongest league in the world?

Who will win the Champions League this season?

  • Manchester United (27%)
  • Chelsea (22%)
  • Arsenal (19%)
  • Barcelona (8%)
  • AC Milan (8%)
  • Liverpool (8%)
  • Real Madrid (5%)
  • Inter Milan (3%)

The best England formation

People seem to be split on the idea of McLaren going with the 3-5-2 formation. Some doubt that we have the technical ability to operate it properly, and others (like former England manager Graham Taylor) feel that we have to break free of the 4-4-2 if we are to ever win a major international tournament.

Which formation do you think England ought to be playing?

  • 4-4-2 (31%)
  • 3-5-2 (27%)
  • 4-5-1 (27%)
  • 4-3-3 (15%)

Harry left fuming after Spurs penalty (Spurs vs Pompey 01/10/06)

Panel DecisionDidier Zakora swan dives through the air with the sort of grace that suggests he’s in the wrong game, and ref Chris Foye swallows his dummy whole, sends off poor Pedro Mendes (who must be suffering the most unfortunate start to a season in living memory) and makes the most blatant wrong decision of the season so far…

After reviewing the incident the panel adjudged that Didier Zakora clearly dived, and so the penalty he won is cancelled out, making the match result 1-1.
