Gallagher denies two penalties (Fulham vs Reading 25/11/2006)
In a game in which Ian Pearce was somewhat harshly sent off for a mistimed tackle when he was the last man, two stron penalty appeals were denied by stalwart ref Dermot Gallagher. In the first instance, Fulham’s Radzinski was upended by Nicky Shorey on 59, but the seasoned old warhorse DG waved it off and awarded Reading a goal kick much to the chagrin of the Cottagers. The second incident involved a good shout for Reading when the argumentative Luis Boa Morte pulled Ki-Hyeon back in the box…
Having analysed the video evidence The Right Result Panel adjudges that both these penalties should have been given and the Right Result is therefore Fulham 1 Reading 2.
