Man City’s second goal wiped off (Man City vs Fulham 18/11/2006)
In the run up to City’s second goal, a clear foul was perpetrated by Claudio Reynas on Carlos Bocanegra…
The Right Result Panel adjudges a free kick should have been awarded and therefore City’s second goal does not stand. The Right Result is Man City 2 Fulham 1.
Saha should have won a penalty (Sheffield Utd v Man Utd 18/11/2006)
With the score at 1-0 Reds striker Louis Saha was pushed by Ron Kozluk in the box having run onto Wayne Rooney’s through-ball. Mark Clattenburg waved it off, and ludicrously booked Ryan Giggs for protesting into the bargain!
The Right Result Panel adjudges that Clattenburg should have awarded a penalty and The Right Result is Sheffield Utd 1 Man Utd 3.

Drogba goal chalked off hattrick (Chelsea vs Watford 11/11/2006)

Free-scoring Chelsea striker Didier Drogba’s first goal against Watford was scored from an off-side position. Cruel to deny a hattrick to the in-form Ivorian of course, but if it comes down to goal difference these things all add up…
The Right Result Panel judges that Drogba’s goal on 27 minutes should be disallowed as it was clearly off-side. The Right Result is therefore 3-0 to Chelsea.

Spector, Hero or Villain? (West Ham v Arsenal 5/11/2006)
Jonathan Spector appeared to bring Alexander Hleb down in the area but Rob Styles waved play on. Video replay shows that Spector made minimal contact with the ball before bringing the Arsenal player down. The Gooners should have been awarded a penalty.
Arseanl should have been awarded a penalty and The Right Result is 1-1.

Andre Ooijer’s ‘handball’ (Aston Villa vs Blackburn 5/11/2006)
Ref Dermot Gallagher awarded a penalty against Andre Ooijer for handball which Gareth Barry converted, much to the well publicised chagrin of Blackburn boss Mark Hughes…
The Right Result panel feels that there was no intentional handball and the so penalty should not have been given. Despite that, and of little consolation to Hughes, The Right Result is 1-0 to the Villa and they still take the 3 points.

Did wunderkind Wayne take a dive? (Manchester United vs Pompey 4/11/2006)
Despite his claims to the contrary about never having dived being somewhat spurious in a historical context, in this particular instance it seems that allegations of one on Saturday are misplaced. Stefanovic’s hip clearly caught Rooney’s leg and there was no diving or simulation by England’s young star.
The Right Result Panel adjudges that referee Dean’s decision was correct and the Saha penalty stands.

Andrew Johnson in no dive shocker (Fulham vs Everton 4/11/2006)
Fulham won their first in three at Craven Cottage today, but Everton might have been unlucky not to get a second consecutive draw in the capital after taking a point at The Emirates last weekend after Andy Johnson was denied a penalty by Martin Atkinson after a strong challenge by Ian Pearce…
The Right Result panel judged Pearce to have brought down the England man, and therefore Everton are awarded a penalty, making The Right Result a 1-1 draw.

Dodgy lino denies Bolton (Bolton vs Wigan 4/11/2006)
The misery of a second loss on the bounce for Sam Allardyce’s Trotters can only have been compounded by Stelios Giannakappoulos’ disallowed goal for off-side that would have offered at least the consolation of a point.
As shown by the video replay the goal was onside. The Right Result panel adjudge that it stands for a new outcome of Bolton 1 Wigan 1.
