Poll has another nightmare, Wenger delighted (Arsenal vs Spurs 02/12/2006)

With the score at 0-0 Freddie Ljungberg was clearly fouled in the area by Dawson and a penalty should have been given. Emmanuel Adebayor was, upon close inspection onside for his goal, and the lino called it right. Both Arsenal penalties though were dodgy decisions…in the first half Chimbonda was adjudged to have brought down Rosicky but he did made contact with the ball with a fine saving tackle…in the second half Van Persie handled before being awarded a penalty.
The Right Result panel adjudges that with one penalty wrongly denied and two penalties wrongly awarded the Right Result is Arsenal 2 Tottenham 0.

The thing about Van Persie is that he sort of prances when he moves, and his hands are always flapping around like a ballerina. I thought in this case the defenders arm and RVP’s were intertwined and it wasn’t necessarily deliberate. BUT, in case you think I’m just coming over all Arsenal and have the eyesight of Arsene Wenger, he does do stuff like this quite a lot (like against Liverpool as Paul said) and I wish he wouldn’t, because he’s a good enough player anyway and doesn’t need to.
