The Right Result

Battle of the Blues (Everton vs Chelsea 17/12/2006)

Panel Decision

In a match chock full of incidents there were two particularly controversial ones. Firstly, Frank Lampard scored a fantastic goal - the only problem being that Kalou was clearly offside in the build-up. The Right Result panel has adjudged this goal should have been disallowed. The second incident was, of course, the Andy Johnson penalty appeal. Jose Mourinho initially claimed that Johnson dived. But should a penalty have been given? Was Johnson pulled back and was the pull inside the area? Well, Mourinho has apologised for pointing the finger at Johnson and a penalty should have been given for the foul in the penalty area.

The right result of this game should have been a 3-2 victory for Everton.

Andy Johnson didn’t dive for me, despite the Portu-geezer’s whining, but I also didn’t think it was a pen. Besides, a 2-2 “Right Result” is in fairness the right result as Everton were good but Chelsea also showed why they are the champions at the moment, sadly!

Morinho is the Most arrogant, self-obsessive, pathetic, hypocritcial thick headed person in the realm of football. What Jose said and inferred was that Johnson was trying to con/fool/trick/cheat the refree into giving him a penalty. However, in actuality he got a push in the back which you see game in game out and this sent him off balance. He then chose to jump the keeper rather than collide with him. He then got up without protest and carried on. What did Jose (who at the time off comment had refused to watch a replay) want him to do? We all saw the accidental collision of Cech and the reading player and that could have easily been repeated.

You can say what you like about Jose, and I know he behaves like a *** sometimes, especially in times like the above, but you can’t argue that he gets the job done.

Mourinho is a tosser he really is, pissing and moaning about everything all the time, I cannot wait until he’s gone. It was a penalty plain and simple.
