NEWCASTLE vs WEST HAM - Ref Rennie loses it
Saturday 20th January 2007

In a game in which Uriah Rennie forgot to bring his cards onto the pitch with him in the first place, ref Rennie continued to mis-step and upset Hammers fans by allowing James Milner’s goal to stand, despite the fact that Scotty Parker was clearly offside. The ball went through Parker’s legs and the linesman had raised his flag.
The Right Result was a 2-1 away victory for West Ham.

ARSENAL vs CHARLTON - Should have been five!
Tuesday 2nd January 2007

With the score at 2-0 the returning Thierry Henry scored but the goal was wrongly disallowed for offside, despite Henry being behind the ball when it was passed.
Charlton manager Alan Pardew frankly made a fool of himself criticising the officials. He claimed Van Persie was in an off-side position when he was brought down for an Arsenal penalty. He was not off-side because he was not active. As a manager it would probably be a good idea if Pardew did some mugging up on the rules of the game.
The Right Result was a 5-0 win to Arsenal.

MAN CITY vs EVERTON - Everton denied two penalties
Tuesday 2nd January 2007

Andy Johnson was at it again in this game - not diving that is. Richard Dunne’s push on him merited a penalty which wasn’t given as the England man continues to suffer the consequences of his early season shenanigans. A Distin foul on Osman later in the game also merited a penalty.
The Right Result was a 3-2 away win for Everton.
