BLACKBURN vs WEST HAM - Hammers helped by Divine intervention
Saturday 17th March 2007

West Ham’s second goal should not have been allowed by linesman Divine as Lee Bowyer handballed, Carlos Tevez was off-side and the ball did not cross the line!
The Right Result was a 1-1 draw.

It blatantly wasn’t a goal at all and it’s extraodinary that between the ref and his assistants they missed two offences and the fact that the ball didn’t cross the line. This season has been incredible for bad decisions and I’m glad to see this site has sprung up because some of them are quite unforgivable, and with so much riding on football these days something has to be done. Probably video technology , but in the meantime the right result is the next best thing!

The refs this season have been really really poor in my opinion. Ever since the first day when Gerrard blatantly dived against Sheffield to get the result it’s been a catalogue of bad calls. It’s easy to know with the benefit of hindsight but some of the calls made a blind man could have got right.

The refs do a very difficult job under extreme pressure and I think it’s easy to forget that. Sky’s coverage doesn’t help as they seize on every little thing and try and make it into more than it actually is. I don’t mind this site just so long as it doesn’t get onto the backs of refs and make it personal, which would be wrong.

1-1?? Did we not see Tevez dive/slip for the penalty that got them back into the game?? The right result is 1-0 Rovers. You will be glad to hear that useless linesman has been dropped from the Premier league aswell. Rightfully so, because those 3 points he GAVE West Ham could cost another club £30million.

I agree with Paul, I dont believe it was a penalty either. So it should have been 1-0 to Rovers.

Definitely 1-0 Rovers. This was the biggest travesty I’ve ever seen at Ewood Park, and I was there when Ashby sent Berg off in 94. Sheffield United should sue that linesman!
