Newcastle should have had a late penalty as Diaby committed a rugby tackle-style foul on Onyewu in the area despite already having been warned by the referee seconds earlier.
The Right Result is a 1-0 victory for Newcastle United.

Guttingly it was a ridiculous foul, particularly as he had clearly been warned just before. It does raise questions about his temprement I was hoping Right Result wouldn’t spot it!!!!

I seem to remember Viera started off with more than a few clumsy tackles - may be a sign of good things to come from a team who clearly lack steel in the midfield at the moment. Fabregas, Denilson, Hleb and Rosicky may well have all the talent in the world but in this league they are well short of physicality, which is why the Gunners keep getting had over by teams who by rights shouldn’t be able to live with them.

I wasn’t referring to my Maggies though with that, just in case anyone thought I was a turn-coat. We thoroughly deserved the right result after that fabulous performance at St James’!!!!
