  It would have been a very harsh penalty and of course you are assuming it would have been converted! You do not appear to have considered a clear pull by a Chelsea defender on Sibierski in the penalty area which should have resulted in a penalty for Newcastle

  I am not convinced that there was intent to handle the ball (or intent to put the hand in a position where it was likely to be struck by the ball).

  My considered view would be “no penalty”

  To be honest I thought it was a penalty. I also thought the Sibierski one could have easily been blown up as well. I’ll go penalty.

  Chelsea guys are tired - 60 games on their legs for heavens’ sake! If they did not win was because they lacked enough stamina to push to goal not the penalty excuse - the possibility of catching Man Untd would be more than enough for them to make the game… if they did not match the needed performance it is simply because they are out of breath. I sincerely hope they can catch up with Liverpool but I am afraid the title was in their hands for 90 minutes and window of opportunity is closed now… Mourinho is simply try to put responsability outside their team in order to protect the psychological damage. As simple as that. He is not “distracted” with the stories he tells to other people…

  PENALTY! Peacock’s bang on the money too, and I can’t stand Chelsea but this weekend they were robbed of the chance to win their third title.

  That is what a penalty is Alicia… give a chance to penalize the ofending team for a penalty.
  but as you know its not easy just ask the England boys.

  Chelsea should have been awarded a penalty for a handball by Stephen Carr. But thats football Last Year Chelsea got all the decisons so they should stop complaining
