NEWCASTLE UNITED vs PORTSMOUTH - Toon hand it to Pompey
Saturday 3rd November 2007

Harry Redknapp’s Portsmouth are emerging as genuine Champions League contenders, especially after their spectacular 4-1 win at Newcastle United. It was Pompey’s first win at St James’ Park since 1949 and it should have been even more emphatic. To add to United’s defensive confusion, substitute David Rozehnal clearly committed a handball offence from a Portsmouth corner.
The Right Result is a 5-1 win for Portsmouth.

Personally, I think Portsmouth 2nd goal shouldn’t have been allowed, due to Banjani pulling Cacapa back before taking the shot!
Also their 3rd looked a bit dodgy again with Taylor being pushed when he went up for the header!
As for Sol in defence for Pompy, he should have been sent off, serveral of Pompies players played dirty too!
