MANCHESTER UNITED vs FULHAM - Preceded by reputation

Panel Decision
In one of the most controversial incidents of the season so far – described by manager Sir Alex Ferguson as “ridiculous” – matchwinner Cristiano Ronaldo was denied his first-ever hat-trick for Manchester United. Already with two goals in the old onion bag, the Portuguese superstar sprinted clear of the Fulham defence, knocked the ball wide of advancing keeper Antti Niemi…. and went to ground.Referee Rob Styles ruled it was a dive and, to add insult to the injustice, showed the bemused Ronaldo a yellow card. With the Stretford End goal at his mercy and a simple tap-in away from a prestigious hat-trick, it does beg the question why would he dive?It seems that Cristiano was preceded by his reputation as, in having to hurdle the challenge of the visiting keeper, we believe it was a clear penalty.

The Right Result is a 3-0 win for Manchester United.

Well if that was a penalty, what about the shirt tug on Hleb against United? It’s the more clear penalty I’ve seen you ignore in the history of this site, and I still can’t understand why.

Ronaldo is a serial cheat! He doesn’t need to be but he is.
Andrew Johnston had a series of potential dives “audited”. In general he was cleared. How do you think CR would do?

I agree that it should have beena penalty, however he does have a reputation for a reason, see last goal of game from Saturday 8th.

“it really shouldnt have been a penalty, get over it.”

    Why?

It’s I’m asking for: an explanation.
