NEWCASTLE UNITED vs BIRMINGHAM CITY - Jerome wall pen
Saturday 8th December 2007

Newcastle United clinched a crucial win with a last gasp goal against Birmingham City. However, we are not too sure that the home nerves should have been so frayed despite new Blues boss Alex McLeish’s claim that more of the decisions went in the Toon’s favour. The key decision that should have gone United’s way came when they should have been awarded a penalty as, from his position at the end of the defensive wall, Cameron Jerome made a deliberate movement of his arm to block Emre’s free-kick.
The Right Result is a 3-1 win for Newcastle United.
