ARSENAL vs WIGAN - Lucky Arsenal…

Sunday 11th February 2007

Panel Decision

Phil Dowd had a nightmare of a match in this exciting encounter at the Emirates and Paul Jewell unsurprisingly lost his rag after his team finally went down to a 2-1 defeat.

Amongst the refereeing errors, a challenge by Flamini on Heskey should have resulted in a Wigan penalty, Adebayor had a goal disallowed for off-side when he was level with the final defender and Flamini was offside in the build-up to the Arsenal equaliser.

The Right Result was a 2-2 draw.

SPURS vs MAN UTD - Clattenburg Courts Controversy

Sunday 4th February 2007

Panel Decision

This match saw a number of controversies, including the award of the first penalty after Ronaldo went down in the area. It is impossible to discern whether contact was made so we give Clattenburg (and Ronaldo) the benefit of the doubt. However two penalties were not seen by the official - Henrik Larsson was brought down in the box by Anthony Gardner and Gary Neville practically rugby tackled Pascal Chimbonda to stop him getting his head to a cross!

The Right Result is a 5-1 away victory to Manchester United.

Leroy Lita finished off a splendid move after the ball had been headed back to him by Hunt. Unfortunately the linesman incorrectly ruled the ball to have gone out before Hunt headed it back.

The Right Result was a 3-0 away win for Reading, and Lita gets his hat-trick.

MIDDLESBROUGH vs ARSENAL - Mike Riley calls it wrong

Defender Phillipe Senderos was harshly sent off for a foul on Yakubu Ayegbeni, and on inspection the offence was just outside the area and so the decision to give a penalty was in fact wrong.

The Right Result is a 1-0 away victory for Arsenal.
