Liverpool vs Chelsea - Champions League semi-final 2005 - THE RIGHT RESULT?

As Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez row in the build-up to tonights Champions League semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge, we look at what is now a classic and to our mind completely unresolvable Right Result call and ask you for your votes and opinions on it…

Did Luis Garcia's controversial decider at Anfield in 2005 cross the line, or did "the linesman score the goal" as claimed by the Chelsea boss after the game?

  • The ball crossed the line and it was a goal (64%)
  • Impossible to tell so the goal should not have been given (36%)

RIGHT RESULT USERS VOTED BY A MARGIN OF 64% TO 36% THAT LUIS GARCIA’S GOAL AT ANFIELD DID IN FACT CROSS THE LINE IN THEIR SEMI-FINAL BATTLE IN 2005. DISAPPOINTINGLY FOR REDS FANS THERE WAS NO DOUBT THAT COLE’S GOAL LAST NIGHT ALSO DID AND SO THEY TRAIL BY A GOAL TO NIL GOING INTO NEXT TUESDAY’S RETURN AT ANFIELD.
